How to copy and paste emoji, and fix common problems

A practical copying workflow, a manual fallback, and a simple way to distinguish a clipboard problem from a display problem.

Choose the symbol for your message

Search for what you want to express: thanks, coffee, happiness, or a heart. Try Arabic or English keywords, and consider the label alongside the picture. If two faces look similar, open an available meaning page before deciding. A quiet smile and a laughing face can give the same sentence different tones.

These emoji are text to paste into compatible text fields. You do not need to download an image to add one to a message.

Copy once, then try pasting

Press Copy, move to your text field, and use its Paste command or your deviceโ€™s paste shortcut. Try a short draft first. Check the spacing around the emoji, especially when the message combines Arabic words with English names.

When the copy button does not work

Browsers can restrict clipboard access. Modern programmatic copying requires a secure connection and may need a direct interaction or permission, depending on the browser. Open the HTTPS version and try again. Read any permission prompt rather than granting unrelated access.

You can also select the emoji text and choose Copy from the editing menu. On a phone, a long press on selectable text may reveal that menu.

Copied successfully, but looks wrong?

Try the pasted symbol in another app. This helps separate a copying issue from a display issue. If needed, choose a simpler emoji and keep the important words in your message.
